Those first precious weeks pass in the blink of an eye — the tiny curled fingers, the sleepy sighs, the way your baby fits perfectly in your arms. A newborn photoshoot is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give your growing family, and I would love to capture those fleeting moments for you.
I'm Kayleigh, a specialist newborn and family photographer based in Godalming — just a short drive from Guildford along the A3100. Many of my clients come from Guildford, Merrow, Burpham, Shalford and the surrounding villages, and I'd love to welcome your family to my studio.
A calm, safe newborn studio near Guildford
My home studio in Godalming is warm, quiet and purpose-built for newborn sessions. It's a relaxed, unhurried space where you can settle in with a cup of tea while I work gently with your baby.
Every session is completely baby-led — there's no rushing, no rigid schedule. We work around feeds, cuddles and nappy changes, which means your baby stays calm and comfortable throughout. I have been trained in safe newborn posing, and every wrap, prop and position is chosen with your baby's safety and comfort as the absolute priority.
Sessions typically last up to three hours, giving us plenty of time to capture a beautiful variety of images — from gentle wrapped poses and sleepy close-ups to family portraits with siblings or parents.

When is the best time to book a newborn photoshoot?
The perfect window for newborn photography is within the first 3 weeks, when babies are often sleepier and curl naturally. That said, this is not a strict cut-off.
I regularly photograph babies well beyond the newborn stage, including older babies who are more alert, smiley, or already starting to sit. Beautiful images can be captured at any age, and every stage has its own magic.
If you feel you’ve missed the early window, please don’t worry — I would still love to photograph your baby.
What if my baby is older than three weeks?
You have absolutely not missed your chance.
Older babies often give us:

I photograph babies of all ages, right through to confident sitters and toddlers, and I’ll tailor the session to suit your baby’s stage and personality.
How long does a newborn or baby session last?
Newborn and baby sessions are completely baby-led and typically last up to 3 hours, allowing plenty of time for feeding, cuddles, and settling.
For older babies, sessions are often shorter and more playful, but still relaxed and unhurried.
What if my baby wont sleep?
That’s absolutely fine — not all babies do, and it’s never a problem.
Awake babies, especially slightly older ones, often make the most beautiful, expressive images. I work gently around your baby’s needs and adapt the session to whatever they bring on the day.
Where do newborn and baby sessions take place?
Sessions take place in my calm, cosy home studio in Godalming, Surrey, which is fully equipped and kept warm for babies of all ages.
Everything is designed to help you feel relaxed and looked after from the moment you arrive.
How far is your studio from Guildford?
My studio in Godalming is approximately 4 miles from Guildford town centre — around 10–15 minutes by car via the A3100. There is free parking directly outside, making arrival easy even with a new baby.
Do I need to travel far for a newborn shoot?
Not at all. Godalming is one of Surrey's most easily accessible villages from Guildford, with a straightforward route along the A3100 or via Shalford. Many of my Guildford families tell me the drive felt completely manageable, even in those early newborn days.
Booking your Guildford newborn photoshoot
To book your newborn or baby photoshoot, simply get in touch with me and share your baby’s due date (or date of birth if your baby has already arrived).
I work with a limited number of sessions at any one time to ensure every family receives a relaxed, unhurried experience, so I always recommend booking in advance where possible. For expectant parents, I’ll provisionally reserve studio time around your due date, allowing flexibility once your baby arrives.
Once your baby is here, we’ll confirm a comfortable date and time that works best for you and your baby.
If your baby has already arrived, please don’t worry — I regularly accommodate last-minute bookings and photograph babies of all ages. The best thing to do is simply get in touch as soon as you can, and we’ll find a suitable studio slot together.
